Here it is, the new apple key, the iPad, like a big iPhone. Steve Jobs today present us the new product of the factory. The iPad — with a 10-inch screen and weighing 1.5 pounds — will run all the more than 140,000 apps that can be used on the company’s iPhone or iPod touch. But the big addition is an iBook application that — with Apple’s own online iBookstore — positions iPad as an e-reader to compete with Amazon.com’s Kindle or Barnes & Noble’s Nook

This feat is remarkable due to the fact that the PS3 is the last remaining box that can’t be modified for pirated games, unlike the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. Geohot has remained tight-lipped on the sort of exploits he can achieve with his utterly disfigured PS3 pictured above, but we suspect loading unsanctioned programs to tap on the powerful Cell processor is one of the possibilities.

Unconfirmed rumors price the phone Google Nexus One at $180 with a 2-year T-Mobile plan, or $530 unsubsidized. T-Mobile’s monthly contract will run about $80 a month for 500 minutes of talk and unlimited text and Web — pricey, sure, but not out of line with similarly-equipped smartphones.
